Becoming A Ski-A-Rees Member

Membership in the organization is open to young and old alike who are interested in learning about and developing skills related to water skiing and water safety, and to adults who desire to educate, coach and supervise. Said membership is conditional upon the approval of the organization's Board of Directors. The Ski-A-Rees have much to offer to both the single person as well as the entire family. There are currently approximately 80 active members ranging in age from 3 years old to over 70. In addition, there are members from as far south as Naples, east to Boca Raton and North to Port Richey.

Memberships available include: Family and their Dependents, Couples , Individuals, Collegiate (Full time) and Supporting Memberships.

The Ski-A-Rees perform water ski shows during the fall and winter months for the public at our site on Ken Thompson Park. We also participate in several traveling shows as well as 1 to 3 tournaments per year. Check our schedule for upcoming events.

There are many activities that are needed to run a organization like the Ski-A-Rees other than water skiing. Such as: announcers, sound technicians, costume designers & seamstress, dock & equipment maintenance, stage hands, tow boat & safety boat driving, boat observers, set designers & builders, script writers, fund raising, publicity, sponsorship, concessions, club officers & directors, etc...

The Ski-A-Rees are an amateur water ski team. We are not necessarily looking for the ultimate water skier. If you have some ability and the desire to work, learn and be part of a team, then we have a place for you.

How Do You Join?

First, come out to our site and meet the Ski-A-Rees most any Saturday or Sunday. Introduce yourself and let us know that you are interested. Once you've decided to actually "get your feet wet" and join the team there is a one-time initiation fee of $150.00 for individuals and $200.00 for a family plus annual team dues. Also, you will have to become an active member of USA Water Ski. USA Water Ski fees vary according to single or family status.

Annual team dues are as follows:

• Single Membership(18yo-30yo): $150/year

• Single Membership(30yo+): $300/year

• Family Membership: $500/year

• Collegiate Membership: $100/year

Trial Membership & Instruction

Not sure if you're ready to join. That's ok, Ski-A-Rees offers a trial membership to anyone who wants to give water skiing a try.
